For 2021, we’ve got dancers Helen and Penny working with us to do dance projects online and in the community.
We hope to get the people of Knowle West moving and shaking, through some fun activities for everybody and every BODY, and you don’t need dance experience to get involved!
You might have seen the first ‘dance happening’ which was a music video made to the spectacular Knowle West Bling jingle composed using the community mission. And did you see the stickmen showing how to do the 5 dance moves on the front of re:store as part of the Knowle West Wishes project?!
Our second ‘dance happening’ was a lively carnival performance at Filwood Community Market where we even got the High Sheriff of Bristol dancing along!
For our next ‘dance happening’ we are running summer dance workshops leading to a mini Carnival at the Filwood market on 7th August!
Workshop dates and times are:
At Filwood Community Centre,
The workshops and carnival are for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, and we are aiming to create a fun, mixed social group, in the true spirit of carnivals around the world!
Adults of all ages,
Teens 13-17 with permission from a guardian,
And families with children age 5-12 years, (children must attend all sessions with an adult).
There is wheelchair access to the space, and please let us know if you have any additional need for support.
