SMOOSH! Sonic Street Food from Paraorchestra

Hitting the streets of Knowle West in September

SMOOSH! Sonic Street Food from Paraorchestra

17th September 2021

Brought to you by Filwood Community Centre, SMOOSH! will see a 70-strong brass and wind band performing tub-thumping pop music on the move through the streets of Knowle West this September – think, Basement Jaxx meets Adele meets Tricky!

Performed by Paraorchestra, with the support of community musicians and a troop of dancers, SMOOSH! is a show that ambushes you: you’ll find it around a street corner, or outside your house when you’re taking out the bins, and find yourself curiously drawn in – until you too are dancing and singing along in magnificent communal karaoke – a ‘masseoke’!

SMOOSH!delivers some much-needed live entertainment and a street-party vibe, bringing friends and families of Knowle West together for a safe, accessible, and joyful community celebration.

SMOOSH! is a Paraorchestra production in partnership with Bristol Beacon and Filwood Community Centre.

Composed by Emma-Jean Thackray

Directed by Charles Hazlewood

Choreography by Tom Jackson Greaves with Beth Hinton-Lever
